Broccoli Chicken Dish
This dish that I created today is a rough copy of what my mother used to make. I don’t know how she does her dish but I tried to replicate what I thought would go in it. It ends up being VERY healthy and really is more fun than eating chicken breast and broccoli plain. It is pretty simple and takes no time at all.
TASTE
It is a simple taste, it can really be customized to what you want. I myself prefer a more bland taste but you can do what you want with it. I love the simplicity and the taste of this recipe.
INGREDIENTS
STEPS
- Start by boiling water in a pot.
- Put a tablespoon of Olive Oil while the pot is heating up. [I just put a small drop, eye ball this]
- Cut up your broccoli into small chunks.
- Let the pot boil for a minute.
- Drop the broccoli into the pot.
- Within 2-3 minutes, the pot should boil again.
- Watch this very closely, let the potboil for another minute until broccoli is fully cooked.
- Take this out and put it in a bowl.
- Cut your chicken into small pieces.
- Put a tablespoon of Olive Oil into your skillet.
- Put the skillet on medium heat.
- Put the chunks of chicken onto the skillet.
- Put a small amount of salt/other spices you like onto the chicken right now.
- Move and flip these small chunks for 2-4 minutes until fully cooked. [I usually cut the biggest chunk in half to see if it has cooked all the way through]
- Combine the chicken into the broccoli bowl.
- Enjoy!
OPTIONAL
- Throw a some almonds on top of this.
- Add a teaspoon of cooking wine. [Kills meat's odor]
- Add a teaspoon of salt. [For taste]
- Add a teaspoon of corn starch. [Tenderizes the meat]
If my mom does make the dish her way again, I will be sure to jot it down. Her style has more flavor, but mine may be healthier.
