Special Homemade Unagi Sushi
I love sushi, but I'm not big into the raw sushi rolls. My favorite sushi are the ones that are cooked. This is a recipe for homemade Unagi Sushi. It tastes is out of this world. It is very easy to make and will definitely impress your friends!
You will learn how to make this:
INGREDIENTS
TOOLS
STEPS
- Make your rice.
- Use a rice maker, get the rice you like, add water, and pop it in.
- Times for cooking rice will vary depending on type of rice and rice cooker. You will need to find the perfect time yourself.
- Once the rice is done cooking, take it out.
- Add about 1.5-2 tablespoons of Sesame Oil.
- Add about 1.5-2 tablespoons of Sushi Vinegar.
- Mix these together, and let rice cool while you prepare the sushi.
- Take the Unagi out of the package, pop it in the microwave until it is hot. [I used 1.5 to 2 minutes]
- Take the Unagi out and cut it into strips.
- Cut the Roasted Seaweed into strips about half an inch to an inch wide.
- Cut the Avocado like so.
- Cut the Avocado into small chunks.
- Fill the Sushi Block Maker 3/4 of the way with your prepared rice.
- Push chunks of Avocado into the Sushi Block Maker.
- Fill the rest of the Sushi Block Maker up with your prepared rice.
- Push the Sushi Block maker together.
- Pop out your rice blocks.
- Put a piece of Unagi on top.
- Wrap it with your Seaweed strips. [Have a bowl of water next to you so you can dabble a little water on the end of the strip to help it stick to itself]
- Enjoy!

Tastes great, don’t know how to describe it, no fishy/crappy smell at all. It is amazing. One of the most popular sushi rolls at a place I eat out at.

Oh, and one thing some people who are cooking sushi rice may not know… do NOT for any reason open the lid (if you’re using a pot or a rice cooker). That means don’t check on it halfway through, don’t sneak a peek when it’s time to take it off the heat to cool, don’t open that lid for any reason!
