I Can’t Believe It’s Not Ice Cream Recipe

Haven’t been feeling too great today, had a horrible stomach ache all morning. My appetite was basically shot until I created this amazing concoction. I wasn’t really hungry but I bought a few things last night that I really wanted to try out. I first took a few spoonfuls of cottage cheese and put it into a bowl like I always do. Next I bought some “sugar free” strawberry preserves and added a small teaspoon or so into my cottage cheese and stirred it around. Truthfully, it tasted like shit at this point. I don’t like sugar free stuff at all, I can handle a tiny bit but any more I hate the after taste. As of right now the cottage cheese with the strawberry preserve wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever had but it was far from good. Than I got a bright idea, I bought some Cool Whip Lite, might as well break it open and add some in and see how it goes. I added a heaping tablespoon and to my surprise, after stirring this into my cottage cheese, the first bite was pure heaven. I’ve tried all those “make your own whey ice cream” recipes and none of them come close to how delicious this is. Here is a more detailed review and recipe break down.

TASTE

Due to the Cool Whip, this dish actually tastes like generic Strawberry Ice Cream. It is incredible and is the closest thing to ice cream I’ve had in a long time.

NUTRITION

Strawberry Ice Cream

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 Cup of Cottage Cheese
  • 1 TSP of Sugar Free Strawberry Preserve [More depending on your taste]
  • 2 TBSP of Cool Whip Lite [More if you want it to have a thicker ice cream flavor]
  • 3-17-08 004

STEPS

  1. Take out 1/2 Cup of Cottage Cheese.
  2. Mix in a small amount of Strawberry Preserve until cottage cheese is evenly pink.
  3. Mix in about 2 TBSP of Cool Whip Lite [Taken straight out the freezer]. I just take a spoon and grab a big chunk.
  4. Thats it! Enjoy! You can eat it like this. No need for the freezer!

OPTIONAL STEPS

  • You can put the the freezer and stir it every 30 minutes or so, in hopes of getting it to an “ice cream consistency.” But I’m lazy and I don’t think it is worth your trouble.
  • Throw on some Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup.
  • Throw on some nuts.
  • Go wild, it is a good base to work off of.
