Day 364
DIET
Pretty crazy day. Went to Ning Bo and had some of the most amazing seafood. I'll let the pictures do the talking.
The Ning Bo restaurant has you go into a room and hand pick the sea food and dishes you want. It is a really interesting experience.
Above pictured includes the dishes we ordered. For dinner we went to another Ning Bo restaurant.
Above is the selection area. And below shows the dishes we ordered.
EXERCISES
None.
EXTRA ACTIVITIES
Crap load of walking.

Went to Ning Bo, basically went into the country. It is the most beautiful place and reminds me of the old Asian movies. I took lots of pictures, I hope everyone enjoys them!
Above includes pictures on the way there. One of my favorite includes the row upon row of tractors! We went to Ning Bo for several reasons. One was to see my Great Grandparents grave.
Pictured above includes the site where my Great Grandparents used to live, now torn down for new apartments. Also shows the tombstone and me paying respect to my Great Grandparents.
Day 363
DIET
Lots of Chinese food, eggs, and oatmeal
EXERCISES
Finally found an amazing gym! Did some kick ass deadlifts and everything else. It felt good to be back. Here is a video of my 419 deadlift... New max! And the gym I went to in Shanghai, China.
EXTRA ACTIVITIES
None.

COMMENTS
Pretty relaxing day today, just watched a bunch of House episodes and hung out with family.
Day 362
DIET
Didn't take pictures of everything but did take some of lunch
!
Some crazy stuff here! They don't have Diet Coca-Cola but Coca-Cola Light O_O! Pretty tasty selection of food today. Not sure what I ate LOL!
EXERCISES
I finally found a workable gym. It cost me 50 RMB to workout per day. It has some "small" sized plates. It has a squat rack and a bench. Everything in the gym is pretty old and rusty but I'm pretty sick of looking at gym. I'll just make do with what I have.
I did upper body today. It was an entirely new experience. Apparently, people in China do not really workout. The gym opens at 12 in the afternoon and closes at midnight. It doens't even open in the mornings! When I was there for 2 hours, there were only 2-3 people in the entire place.
Another weird thing was that three personal trainers, and one of the staff basically pulled up chairs and watched a large portion of my workout. They said things like they've never seen someone bench 225 for reps and stuff. They were absolutely fascinated with my lifts. It was really REALLY awkward. One of the girls left me her number after the others left. Weird shit.
I guess I won't post my workout and just describe the atomsphere when I am in China. I also checked out another gym after this. It was part of a multi-million dollar apartment complex. It was pretty bad, with only a smith machine and some random cardio machines. I don't think the weights for the smith even went past 100.
EXTRA ACTIVITIES
None.

COMMENTS
Had a pretty awesome day. Went lifting, visited parent's friend, and went to this crazy acrobatic show.
The last pictures are from this acrobatic show I went to.

ERA ----Intersection of Time
The Multimedia Theatrical Spectacular
As a multimillion-dollar stunning acrobatic extravaganza, the first of its kind in China , ERA is a multimedia odyssey whose inspiration is a direct result of the combination of traditional Chinese acrobatic arts and modern technology. Just like Shanghai , ERA evolves through a constant collision between the past and future.
ERA is a love story, yet it is also a contemplation across the millennia, a fascination with that other dimension man has yet to conquer: time. ERA's acrobats are on a quest to find that tenuous point of balance, the intersection between X, Y and Z.
Not only will the audience be amazed by the acrobats' control and precision, they will be enchanted by the world that is created through the use of multimedia, technology, lighting and sound effects, elaborate costumes, original live music and a lot more.
As such, ERA can remain universal, without language or cultural barriers. A thousand-year-old gesture is worth a thousand emotions, a thousand images, a thousand words ……
Allow us to feed your imagination and bring your dreams back to the present
It was an awesome show, if you guys are ever in Shanghai... check it out

DIET
Started with some breakfast, my whey protein and stuff was lost with my luggage so this is what I scrounged up.
I found some peanut butter, organic oatmeal, and milk. My Grandma gave me the most beautiful organic eggs I've ever seen. The shell is THICK and is very different from the American eggs I'm used to. The egg has a deep orange tint that really makes it extra exotic for me. They scrambled eggs I made came out a bit orange as well. Also had some Asian grapes which tasted like pure sugar and some fresh delivered milk [on top of the oatmeal]. I finished the breakfast with some asian bun type thing filled with meat, my childhood favorite.
For lunch we went to this Chinese restaurant that served "mini" dishes. I don't know what they are so just look at the pretty pictures
.
For dinner I had fresh delivered crabs!
EXERCISES
None.
EXTRA ACTIVITIES
Walking around Shanghai.

COMMENTS
Was not able to find an appropriate gym today. I went looking at one of the fanciest gyms in China. I was looking for a squat rack but they did not have one. Unfortutely, they told me the gym was designed for "health" and not "weightlifting." They had 120 lb dumbbells though... Everything was either cardio or upper body machines. People told me weightlifting was not popular at all in China.
Other than that, I visited my Grandma (on my mother's side) and walked around Shanghai. I took lots of awesome pictures. I hope you enjoy them!
Yes, there is a Best Buy, KFC, Dairy Queen, Starbucks, and McDonald's! It felt like going to Las Vegas with the shiny lights everywhere. China really is westernized!
Day 360
DIET
I spent the majority of this day and the better part of the next on an airplane. All I had to eat was a huge bowl of oatmeal and some REALLY shitty airline food. Here is how my day went. [Everything will be written in US Central Time]
- 7 AM: Woke Up
- 10:45 AM: Board Flight
- 2 AM: Arrive in China
The first meal, shown above was some sort of nasty mashed potato and "beef" dish. United Airlines has REALLY outdone themselves to with this one. After eating it, I was at the toilet for about 1/3 of the trip in the air.
The second meal was... RAMEN?
It was a bowl the size of my fist. I'm pretty much starving at this point and ate it ravenously. The next meal was the nastiest, most disgusting thing I've ever eaten in my life.
I can still taste the "turkey, cheese melt." The whole bottom of my sandwich was black and burnt. It was like biting into a brick, it had no flavor and really made me want to vomit. I've always remember airline food to be pretty good, but this time it sucked HUGE!.
EXERCISES
Can't exercise in the air
.
EXTRA ACTIVITIES
Nothing physical.

COMMENTS
We had the worst luck in getting on the airplane. First we were on standby so we had to wait for everyone to get on, by the time we were ready to board, there were basically no seats left. They were able to get us a first class and two business class tickets... Funny thing is... They have a STUPID DRESS CODE at United Airlines. My mom, wearing jeans, and I, wearing sweat pants, were NOT ALLOWED on business class and were downgraded to economy. I was pretty shocked. So my dad got the royal treatment while my mom and I traveled like usual. He got lucky and got served "REAL" food!
I basically spent the flight listening to trance mix and finishing a book called Timeline by Michael Crichton, the person who wrote Jurassic Park. I was dehydrated throughout the entire flight and kept having the flight attendants refill my Blender Bottle.
To top off the "next morning." The airlines lost our luggage and I have no clothing whatsoever!
Well, I am ready for an exciting time at China and will hope to take lots of awesome pictures and eat some awesome food!
